U25 Pairs -Rules

NORTHERN IRELAND BOWLING ASSOCIATION

OPEN U25 PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIPS RULES

     1. The Competition shall be called The Northern Ireland Bowling Association Open U25 Pairs Championship.

     2. The Competition shall be confined to the members of clubs comprising the Northern Ireland Bowling Association.

     3. This competition shall be open to members of affiliated Clubs in all the Divisions in NIBA Leagues.

     4. This competition is constrained to only male members of Clubs affiliated to Irish Bowling Association.

     5. Competitors in this competition MUST be under the age of 25 on 1st April of the season in which they are competing.

     6. Two eligible players may enter under any of the following combinations:
          a) From the same Club;
          b) From any two Clubs within the NIBA;
          c) If there is only one eligible player from a Club, the Selection Committee, (where possible), will attempt to pair up two eligible players.

     7. Each game shall be 18 ends, and each competitor shall play 3 bowls.
     In the event of a draw an extra end will be played to decide a winner.

     8. Entry will only be accepted on the Official Open U25 Pairs Entry form, completed either on paper or electronic.
Entry Form will be accepted with either both names of a Pairing or a single name seeking a partner.
Completed Entry Forms must be forwarded to Honorary Competition Secretary to arrive on or before the closing date  as advertised on Entry Form, which will be strictly adhered to.

    9. There is no restriction on the number of entrants each Club may enter.

   10. Players may make their own arrangements regarding the playing position.

   11. Should an entrant withdraw through illness or other unforeseen circumstances prior to the commencement of the competition, another eligible player may be nominated as a replacement. The replacement automatically becomes an original member of the Pair.

   12. The entrance fee for each competition shall be set at the Annual General Meeting. A prize may be awarded to the winners and runners-up.
