NORTHERN IRELAND BOWLING ASSOCIATION
PLAYER CODE of CONDUCT
This Code of Conduct shall apply to all Players representing the Northern Ireland Bowling Association (NIBA).
An NIBA Player is defined as any person chosen as a player or reserve for Senior and Junior Association duty or in any trial team or squad selected to represent the Northern Ireland Bowling Association.
A player shall conduct themselves at all times in a manner that reflects favourably upon fellow players and the Northern Ireland Bowling Association on and off the bowling green.
A Player shall have the following obligations: –
- Must attend all trials, practice sessions or events in relation to their selection.
- Must observe all rules and regulations of the NIBA and any other body responsible for the organisation of events.
- Accept control of the Team Manager /Selectors as follows;
a) Dress Code, as advised for both on and off the green.
b) Details of all Squad Sessions, Practice Sessions etc.
c) Report punctually at prescribed times.
d) Adhere to any curfew which may be imposed during events.
e) Comply with any requirements/instructions from the Team Manager /Selectors.
4. Make the Team Manager /Selectors aware of any medication being taken prior to or when participating in trials, squad sessions or any other event.
5. Inform the Team Manager /Selectors of any personal circumstances that may affect their performance in the team.
6. Inform the Team Manager /Selectors of any injury which may affect their performance in the team.
7. Not render themselves unfit through alcohol or drugs on or off the bowling green.
8. Adhere to any no smoking policy imposed at any event.
9. Show respect to colleagues, opponents and officials and not subject them to any physical or verbal abuse at
any time.
10. Not to give an interview to the press or media without permission from the Team Manager /Selectors whilst on Association duty. If permission is granted, then the player must conduct themselves in a manner befitting a
person representing the Association.
11. Adhere to instructions from the Team Manager /Selectors regarding the use of Social Media as follows;
a) Adhere to any restrictions on the use of Social Media imposed during Association duty.
b) Must not post information or make comments that could bring the NIBA into disrepute or which are derogatory or disrespectful in any way to the NIBA or anyone associated with it.
c) Any comments made should not be speculative or have an actual or likely negative impact on
the NIBA’s reputation or cause embarrassment to the NIBA.
d) You shall not post any pictures or statements that may embarrass another member of the NIBA.
12. Players must leave the confines of the green with their bowls once their own game is finished and must not
return to the green until all games are completed.
13. Any players representing the NIBA at any Association event should adhere to the following;
a) Hotel accommodation, if required (including meals), for all players will be arranged by the NIBA for the duration of the event and will be booked as a group.
b) All Players should remain together for the duration of the event, including travel and meals under the direction of the Team Manager/Selectors.
c) Spouses, Spectators and Guests must make their own arrangements entirely apart from the team.

I confirm that I have read the Northern Ireland Bowling Association Player Code of Conduct and will adhere to the guidelines contained therein.
I understand that failure to adhere to any of the above may be subject to disciplinary action.
