Dear Fellow Bowlers
I wish to thank the Northern Ireland Bowling Association for nominating me as their President, the clubs at the AGM for accepting the nomination and my own club Lurgan for their support.
I feel honoured and privileged to see my name alongside the Presidents who have held this position over the past 115 years, many of whom have played a significant part in making the Northern Ireland Bowling Association the highly respected bowling Association to which it is held within Irish Bowls.
In the coming year, I would be delighted if some Irish titles come to our Association and it would also be very nice to win an Inter Association Championship Series.
My intention is to visit all our 37 clubs during the year and would especially ask all clubs to make a real effort to encourage new members, particularly in the under 50 age range.
Many thanks to those members who have stepped down from the GP Committee for all the hard work they have done and to welcome the 4 new members. I look forward to working with the officers and committee and will give them my full support during what will be another very busy season ahead.
My chosen charity is, NI Air Ambulance, and your support would be greatly appreciated.
May I congratulate Musgrave B.C. who are celebrating their centenary this year and look forward to joining them in their celebrations
My best wishes to Tommy Cheevers from Donaghadee on a successful year as President of The Irish Bowling Association and wish him an enjoyable year in office.
Finally, I wish all our members, good health, enjoyable bowling, and every success in whatever competition you may participate in during the 2026 season.
Dan Dempsey
