NIBA President Thomas Hanna, IBA President Colin Hogg, Balmoral Secretary Annesley Harrison,
Balmoral President David McIntyre, Alderman Jim Rodgers & Alderman Tom Haire.
Balmoral Bowling Club celebrated the opening of their upgraded facilities at Belvoir Park recently with a friendly game between the NIBA and Balmoral Club members.
Alderman Jim Rodgers congratulated Club President David McIntyre and Secretary Annesley Harrison after viewing the newly installed floodlights, electronic scoreboard and vastly improved green surroundings. He also thanked Balmoral of availing from grants made available by Belfast City Council for the improvement of Sporting Facilities within the Borough.
IBA President, Colin Hogg also extended his congratulations to Balmoral on their foresight in investing and their commitment to the game of bowls moving forward and wished the Club every success and more importantly good health to enjoy these new facilities.
After an enjoyable game, Officials, invited Guests and players were treated to a superb light supper. Undoubtably, the highlight of the evening was the excellent recitation by Tommy Turkington on the past 50 years of Balmoral Bowling Club history, it’s members past and present and even to some antidotal recollections for which he received resounding applause.
The NIBA extend their best wishes to Balmoral Club to enjoy these superb facilities for many years to come.
