Super 6s Competition
At NIBA General Purposes Committee (GPC) meeting held via Zoom on Wednesday 8 July, the Committee discussed the likelihood of facilitating some form of competitive bowling during what remains of the summer months.
Whilst the 2020 League programme and Championships are now officially cancelled, the GPC would be keen to assist those Clubs willing to participate in a competitive form of play, now that most or all of the Local Councils have reopened their greens.
A suggestion of a 6 player team(s) competition, consisting of 3 pairs, playing 3 bowls, over 2 sets format was favoured, to be competed over the remaining Saturday afternoons from Saturday 25 July.
If your Club would like to express their interest in said competition, could all Club secretaries/representatives please look out for an email from the Association’s Honorary Secretary extending an invitation to compete, and respond by Saturday 18 July to League Secretary Stephen Moran, and the viability of organising such a programme can be assessed.
