Association Flag Unfurling 2025
President Rodney Simpson unfurled our Association Flag at North Down Bowling Club in Ward Park yesterday evening, Friday 11th April, thereby officially opening our 2025 bowling season.
The ceremony commenced with North Down President Stephen Glenn welcoming everyone to Ward Park, and generously handing over the North Down green to the NIBA for the evening. Mayor Alistair Cathcart reiterated Stephen’s warm welcome and considered it a great honour to be invited, and highlighted the fact that Ward Park is the only venue in all Ireland with three superb council maintained greens. Mayor Alister then wished Rodney a very enjoyable and successful year.
Last year’s President Mark Shannon handed over the Association flag which President Rodney graciously accepted and hoisted, followed by a short acceptance speech which received generous applause from the many Guests and spectators assembled.
