IBA Challenge Cup Finals 2023

Our very own Bangor and Newcastle Bowling Clubs are both involved, this weekend Saturday 26 at 2pm, contesting the IBA Senior Challenge Cup final at Belmont BC & Junior Challenge Cup Final at Ards BC respectively.

Bangor have a long IBA Cup pedigree in this blue ribbon competition, winning the Senior title on no less that 11 previous occasions, equaled only by Falls BC, so they will be attempting to make history with a 12th win on Saturday afternoon at 2pm. The Ward Park guys have just secured another Division 1 League title, added the NIBA Senior Cup to their locker, and are unbeaten in their last 25 League & Cup matches. 

Their opponents, Limavady ‘A’ are also on top of their game, currently topping the NIPBA Premier League with only one match remaining.

This has all the hallmarks of a classic and keenly contested Senior Cup encounter. We extend our best wishes and support to the Bangor lads.

County Down Club, Newcastle ‘A’ have reached their first ever IBA Junior Cup final and will face former NIBA Club Balmoral ‘A’ in the Junior Challenge Cup, hosted at Ards BC, again on Saturday 26 at 2pm. Newcastle are the holders of this year’s NIBA Junior (16) Challenge Cup, and are currently top of League 3A, challenging for promotion.
