This was a very close, tense affair between two evenly matched sides, Castle and Newcastle, with the lead changing every couple of ends.

Now with 3 rinks off, Castle held a slender 1 shot, with only one more end to play.

Down to the wire, both skips had only one bowl each left to play, with Castle lying one. Newcastle skip Aidan McHugh punched the Castle shot bowl through the head to lay a count of 4. Unfortunately, Castle’s skip failed to make any difference.

Newcastle crowned Intermediate Challenge Cup Winners 2024 by 3 shots.
